Groundbreaking for MSK Bensheim III: Strong Partnerships, Clear Vision for the Future

MSK Bensheim 3

Together with representatives from politics, business, and the region, MSK Pharma Group officially marked the start of construction for its third site in Bensheim with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony on May 6, 2026. On a brownfield site covering approximately 40,000 square meters, a modern new facility is now being developed, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2027 and around 100 new jobs to be created.

For MSK’s customers, the new location will primarily provide additional capacity, further optimized processes, and long-term planning reliability. MSK Bensheim III will combine pharmaceutical logistics, pharma packaging, quality management, and additional services under one roof and will serve as the company’s new headquarters.

“As a full-service provider in the pharmaceutical industry, we carry responsibility. With MSK Bensheim III, we are strategically investing in integrated structures that provide our customers with security, scalability, and reliability across the entire value chain. Especially in times shaped by crises, we are consciously creating the conditions for growth, supply security, and a strong pharmaceutical hub in Germany and Europe,” explains Simon Heß, Managing Director and Partner of MSK Pharma Group.

The new facility will be the company’s largest site to date. Plans include state-of-the-art logistics space with automated storage and picking systems, temperature-controlled storage areas, and specialized space for regulated pharmaceutical processes. The site will also feature functional office space with short communication paths, as well as a rooftop terrace and sports area to offer employees opportunities for movement and balance.

Another key focus is the site’s sustainable design. The new facility is planned to be completely fossil-free and incorporates photovoltaic systems, green roofs, and rainwater management. These measures support energy-efficient and reliable operations, particularly in light of increasing regulatory requirements.

Mayor Christine Klein described the groundbreaking as a “milestone against stagnation.” She highlighted the creation of around 100 new jobs and the revitalization of the site, emphasizing that the city remains committed to development even under challenging conditions.

District Administrator Christian Engelhardt underlined the project’s importance for the regional infrastructure and described the loyalty of the Heß family to the location as a strong signal for the Bergstraße district. Dr. Matthias Zürker, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Bergstraße GmbH, added that especially in challenging times, “entrepreneurial courage” is needed to sustainably strengthen the Bergstraße region through modern logistics projects.

“We are very pleased about the trust that MSK Pharma Group has placed in us for the third time to realize a property perfectly tailored to its requirements and processes,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner Panattoni DACH & Nordics. “Continuous and open dialogue aimed at developing an individual, tailor-made solution is a cornerstone of this long-standing partnership.”

MSK Bensheim III is already the third joint project between MSK Pharma Group and the logistics and industrial real estate developer Panattoni Germany. The partnership is based on clearly defined quality standards, reliable project execution, and a shared understanding of the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to Panattoni Germany, fabrikon GmbH is also involved in the realization as general contractor.
