Expansion of the MSK Logistics Center in Bensheim

(Ben­sheim) The estab­lish­ment of a mod­ern logis­tics cen­ter in Ben­sheim (Ben­sheim I) in Feb­ru­ary 2023 rep­re­sents a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone in our company’s his­to­ry. In col­lab­o­ra­tion with Panat­toni Ger­many Prop­er­ties GmbH, a renowned devel­op­er of indus­tri­al and logis­tics prop­er­ties, a state-of-the-art logis­tics cen­ter with a total usable area of 10,577 m² was con­struct­ed. This strate­gic expan­sion strength­ens our mar­ket posi­tion and opens up greater oppor­tu­ni­ties for glob­al cus­tomer engage­ment. How­ev­er, the suc­cess in Ben­sheim is only the begin­ning of our ambi­tious goals for the future. We are proud to con­tin­ue our growth trajectory—with a sec­ond logis­tics cen­ter set to be built on the adja­cent site by June 2025. Our sec­ond logis­tics cen­ter in Ben­sheim is not only a major step for­ward but also a clear sig­nal to our part­ners and cus­tomers: We are ready for the chal­lenges of the future!

New Logistics Center Sets Standards in Quality and Service

In the sec­ond quar­ter of 2024, we began con­struc­tion of our sec­ond logis­tics cen­ter (Ben­sheim II) in Ben­sheim, once again in coop­er­a­tion with Panat­toni Ger­many. The com­ple­tion of our sec­ond logis­tics cen­ter is sched­uled for June 2025. The logis­tics cen­ter will be built in accor­dance with GDP and GMP guide­lines to ensure the high­est stan­dards of qual­i­ty and safe­ty for med­ical prod­ucts. With our exist­ing 16,000 m² of logis­tics space, we are now expand­ing our capac­i­ty to a total of 27,300 m² of stor­age space, allow­ing us to offer even bet­ter ser­vice to our customers.

The new logis­tics cen­ter spans a site of 28,700 m² and includes an addi­tion­al 380 m² of mez­za­nine space and over 1,350 m² of office space. In addi­tion to expand­ing our space, we are also cre­at­ing over 50 secure jobs in logis­tics and admin­is­tra­tion. This expan­sion not only enables us to increase our offer­ings but also main­tains the effi­cien­cy of our ser­vices at a high level.

Sustainability is More Than Just a Promise

In our logis­tics cen­ter, we are set­ting a bench­mark for a sus­tain­able future. Cov­er­ing an area of 10,000 m² with a gen­er­a­tion capac­i­ty of 1 MWp, we meet the DGNB Gold stan­dard and ESG ver­i­fi­ca­tion for EU tax­on­o­my. Heat­ing is envi­ron­men­tal­ly friend­ly through VRF tech­nol­o­gy and air-water heat pumps, avoid­ing the use of fos­sil fuels. Elec­tric charg­ing sta­tions, a well­be­ing area, and green roofs cre­ate a pleas­ant work­ing envi­ron­ment for our employ­ees. Rain­wa­ter is used for irri­ga­tion, col­lect­ed in cis­terns, and stored in reten­tion basins. Bio­di­ver­si­ty is impor­tant to us: a wild­flower mead­ow with an insect hotel and the pro­tec­tion of the exist­ing trees are part of our con­cept. We demon­strate that eco­nom­ic growth and sus­tain­abil­i­ty can go hand in hand.

The con­struc­tion of the new logis­tics cen­ter is anoth­er step on our jour­ney to offer ever bet­ter solu­tions and meet the demand­ing chal­lenges of the phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal indus­try. We look for­ward to con­tribut­ing to health­care with this expansion.
